[Day 34]

[Day 34 and weighing in at 135.4]

Ok so I don't even know how this is possible and I'm sure that they run big. But last night when my hubby-cakes and I went shopping I found myself strutting my stuff out of the dressing room to show my hubby-cakes. He was shocked that I even came out to show him. because I usually only end up coming out after I have already tried everything on (with no luck) and my arms empty because NOTHING fit.

Well that was not the case last night.

I want to thank the sales girl, she was very helpful. I went in with an open mind and told myself ok I'm just gonna grab all sizes and just see what fits best.

I like to shop at Nordstrom's for my jeans. I don't know why I just think they last longer. However it's a little hard to know what size I am at other places because I'm so use to their jean sizes. They go by waist size.

For a year or so I was fitting into a size 30 to 31 [which means 30-31 inch waist] I think it is converted to a woman's size 10.

So my first thought was to grab the size 29 and crossed my fingers that they would fit. Well they did not ... they were too big.

Then the sales lady brought me a size 28, too big.
size 27 too big.

As I was doing the skinny dance in the fitting room waiting for the sales lady to bring me the next size ... she brought me a SIZE 26.

THEY FIT!!! They fit tight but they fit and the pants have some stretch to them, which I like. I felt good in them not suffocating. I felt comfy and tall and they buttoned super easy.

I CAN NOT BELIEVE I WENT DOWN THAT MANY SIZES!!!! Unbelievable! Size 26 inch waist is a size 4. WTF?? INSANE!!

So here's what I bought:
7 For All Mankind® A-Pocket Stretch Jeans (Dark New York Wash)
Favorite-fitting stretch denim in a dark-blue wash is accented by subtle fading and slight distressing. Signature 'A' embroidery brands the back pockets, and a contoured waistband prevents gapping. Zip fly with button closure.
Five-pocket style.
Approx. inseam: 33" with 18" leg opening.
Approx. rise: front 8"; back 13".
Cotton/polyurethane or cotton/spandex; machine wash.

And this is a closeup of them, so excited about the size!! And this is me in them ... I fill them out quit a bit more than the model.

I really want to focus on toning up more than ever and continue to keep my meals clean. Bye-bye skinny fat and hellllllooo hot-buff-wife!!

[Day 33]

[Day 33 and weighing in at 133.8 lbs]

I'm nervous and excited ... I'm going to try on some pants at Nordstroms tonight ... I have no idea what size I am but I will be sure to keep all of you posted. My husband and I are going to a super bowl party this weekend and I have nothing to wear. Everything I own is either too small or too baggy. I need to get something that fits me properly. So we'll be shopping and I have mixed emotions because I don't want it to go down like it did the last time I went shopping. Me historically depressed and crying after because I thought I was a certain size and low and behold I WAS NOT!!

So fingers crossed all this hard work pays off and I'll be able to fit into something cute.

Workout:
BFL cardio day dit HIIT for 20 minutes starting with 3.5 mph to 7.5 mph. Drip drip drip goes the sweat off my face. Great HIIT day

[Day 32] WEEK 4 on BFL

[Day 32 and weighing in at 134 lbs]

Here we are ... 4 weeks ago I was a frumpy flabby skinny-fat housewife who came across a book called BODY FOR LIFE. I can honestly say 4 weeks in and it has already changed my life. 4 weeks ago I began my journey and let me tell you I feel fantastic so far. I never knew I had it in me, all this strength. I not only see changes I feel different, inside and out. My confidence has totally improved and it's still improving everyday.

Today was a priority for me to get my body fat test done. So I did, went to the same guy who test it last time. Holy-cow I couldn't believe when he told me my results. I lost 6.1 % of body fat in 4 weeks and 6 lbs on the scale!! This is truly amazing results and I couldn't be happier. All this hard work is definitely REAL and definitely working!!

Ok so here they are my dreaded BEFORE photos. Uhhhhh ... yuck!! YES YUCK!!I'm so sorry in advance if my photos give anyone blindness, acid reflex or makes anyone vomit or loose their apatite after seeing them. Gosh I didn't realise how hard this is ... posting em ... I'm still uncomfortable with it so I have removed my face. I hope you all can understand. And just so you know I am a shy person and NEVER EVER EVER EVER have worn a bikini in public. So this is certainly a BIG step for me.

I certainly need to gain allot more muscle and I can't wait to start seeing some muscle definition.

I'm proud of my 4 week results so far and I'm super pumped for the next 4 weeks. And will certainly keep you all up to date on my changes.

Thank you all so much for all your comments and support, it truly means allot to me!!!

[Day 29]

[Day 29 and weighing in at 135 lbs] stupid scale!!

Grilled up all my chicken for the week ...

Mmmm CHICKEN!!!

So this morning I pulled my bootie out of bed at 5:15 AM. To get to the gym by 5:40ish. But before that I inhaled some plain oats with splenda, made a quick cup of black coffee, made it into an iced coffee with a little splenda and ate 4 hard boiled eggs, removing the yolks of course. Nothing like being half asleep and not realising that I didn't take off all the eggshells. Mmm crunchy...

Lemme just say ... my husband is pretty awesome and he got up with me even though he doesn't usually get up till 7:15AM. He works out at the gym next to his work. So we both left the house at the same time to go workout. He went to his gym and I went to mine. Even though we didn't workout together lemme just say it helped to get up together and leave the house at the same time. I'm so NOT a morning person.

Meals:

Lean, clean and often. This is the yummy spinage salad I made. Mmm tangerines (fresh off our tree)some almond slices, grilled chicken, 1 tbp of Italian dressing only 10 calories. YUM!!

And I tried the chocolate peanut butter Myoplex bar. I didn't care for this one, not as much as the Mint, that one was good ... like a 10 this one was like a 6.

Workout:
I went to the gym twice today once in the AM by myself and in the evening with the hubby-cakes.
AM WO:
*1.0 mile on the treadmill with an incline of 10.0 at 3.5 mph
*1.0 mile between 3.5-5.5 mph
*StairMaster for about 20 minutes on level 5
*Light arm resistant workout for 1.0 mile at 2.5 mph (It's a cool machine, don't know what it's called but think of a treadmill for your arms
And finished up with about 20 minutes of stretching.
PM WO: with the hubby-cakes

Day 28

[Day 28 and weighing in at ??lbs] I'm sorry I did not weigh in today. I over slept and was rushed out of the house to get things done for the day. I.E. grocery shop, workout just a bunch of randomness stuff.

I'm sort of freaking out because I only a few days left till my 4 week mark on BFL. Which I will be posting my BEFORE and 4 WEEK progress photos. So if your interested and want to see the little changed check back on Feb 1st.

Now I do not guarantee BIG changed, hell their might not even be changes at all. I just want to be held accountable and something to refer to. This is all a learning process for me.

Hey who knows you might see changes that I might not see or maybe I'll see changes that y'all might not.

All I know is I'm working real hard on my nutrition and training. So lets hope the photos say something cause I know the scale is and so are my cloths.

Meals:
Sooooooooooo could have been better, it started off bad. I didn't eat any BF and rushed out of the house around 11AM picked up some black coffee with splebnda at Target. Did some random house hold shopping. While I was shopping at Target ... about 1:00 ish or so my tummy started to turn. So I bought a CLIF Builder's protein bar {peanut butter} was just ok, didn't really taste like peanut butter. But it did get me through my WO. Which is where I went after. The rest of the day's meals were good, I tried to makeup for a horrible morning.

Workout:
Today was my cardio day and I was able to get in 5 miles, going between 3.5 and 7.5 mph. I so am NOT a runner but need to build up my endurance. This is how it went down today:
Miles: 5.02
Calories Burned: 704.5
Minutes: 68.22 (in number format seems looooong, but it really didn't seem long to me, it actually flew by.)

Day 27

[Day 27 and weighing in at 132.7 lbs]
The scale is my best friend today, ha ha ha

Somethings are changing and I couldn't be happier!! It's amazing what the body and hard work can do together. My results are minimal but dramatic at the same time. I don't know how to explain it but wow, I couldn't be in a better place today.

Where is this place?

This is where I run sometimes when I need to think ...
Why: because it's just a dirt trail...with nothing around but the sound of your feet hitting the dirt, your breathing and thoughts.

Today I ran 2.0 miles... there is this one trail that goes up the mountain, pretty steeply... the view from up there is breath-stealing....

I was already tired and felt worn out... but I just wanted to push myself... I knew that even though it would hurt my already tire muscles... but as I could feel each muscle pulling me up the steep, soft, sandy trail...digging my toes in and leaning forward to keep balance... a though popped into my head... even though it hurts... and feels hard and you want to give up and go back down.....

I knew every muscles that tearing apart... would grow from that... stronger than before! That each even in my life, that has torn my heart, and felt impossible.....
the heart, being the strongest muscle.... would grow back stronger than before! Each thing in your life that feels discouraging, each person that has broken your spirit, each moment when you've felt more alone than you think you can stand....
KNOW that in all those moments... when you stood through them.... you grew stronger!

Think of each difficult situation... being like doing one more rep of a workout... that you know hurts, but you know when you are done... you are going to have the most chiseled muscle in the world.....

Not just sculpted legs..or chiseled arms.... but the most important muscle of them all....you constantly beating heart!

In the bible it says, "Guard your heart, for it is the well-spring of life"....and that is so true....

If we strengthen our hearts... no one or nothing can take us down....

I'm learning to become a "get-back-uppers" we all are "get-back-uppers" .... none of this we're getting knocked down....no way......if we do fall......we're not focusing on the falling...we're focusing on the "get-back-upping"!

And the best part is... when you have someone that helps pull you up... and that's what all of you have done for me.... I appreciate you all so much... and I cherish all your precious words and have stored them away in my heart!

This song is what I always START and FINISH my run with, so motivating and really speaks to me and my life.

Katy Perry - Fingerprints lyrics | LyricsMode.com

Workout:
BFL lower body training and 2.0 miles of a fantastic run

Meals:

Clean, lean and often. I find it exciting to plan out my meals. Last night I pretty much planned out an entire days worth of meals. Which I plan on eating everyday on schedule. Balanced clean food for me :D

[Day 26]

[Day 26 and weighing in at 135.9 lbs]

A little up on the scale today by .9. Whatever, I'm hating the scale today. But I can't get all crazy because it's not like 3lbs up. So I'm shutting up and keeping my focus. If at first you don't succeed… curse and swear, tear your hair out in frustration, sulk, come close to giving up, do more research, get some fresh air, get hopeful, read fabulous comments from all your blogger friends. And when you do succeed, keep your fingers crossed and pray to the fitness gods that you can keep succeeding.

It was so awesome to log in today and see more comments. I never imagined that people would even ever care to read about my journey. It's pretty cool!! And I just wanted to say THANK YOU and I APPRECIATE YOU ALL!!

So I have some bit of exciting and challenging news. My husband and I signed up for a marathon that takes place in September. SO nervous but excited as well. :D

Workout:
So today's workout is cardio I ran on 5.5 mph for 2.0 miles. Feeling pretty good. But after I was supa-dupa hungry so I went next door to the RITE AID drugstore. They sell GNC stuff so I knew that they would have something with a good carb/protein balance. This is what I bought:

[EAS Myoplex nutrition bar] It has 25g or high quality protein I got the Chocolate Mint and it was YUMMY!! I would so get it again. However I am watching my FAT and sugar and sodium intake. This bar contained 8g of total fat, 290 mg of sodium and 12g of sugar. It was between this bar and a Muscle Milk bar and EAS beat it by a landslide. Oh and it is a supplement that BFL recommends so that works for me!!

Meals:
Lean, often and balanced :D

ta-ta for now ... until tomorrow

Day 25

[Day 25 and weighing in at 134.9 lbs]
Boo yeah, my hard work is paying off!! I'm loving the feel of every move I make. I feel the strength!!

I have one week till my ONE MONTH mark!! Whooo Hooo!! So excited to post my progress photos, I mean they are no where near dramatic, but I do see little , very little changes. I think more so my mind and confidence has truly changed. My body is getting there one day at a time.

Workout:
Strong!! I bust my booty today doing BFL upper body

Meals:
Often, lean and clean

Good day today!! Sending lots of love to all of you!!

[Day 24] [Rest Day]

[Day 24 and weighing in at 135 lbs]
Weight is still the same, hellllzzzzz yeah Boy!!! So Sunday is my rest day, so no workout today. Ohh and lemme just say I'm starting to notice that eliminating SALT helps my tummy ALLOT. It helps me look less pregnant. It's a horrible thing when family and friends think your pregnant because ya look like you are. I can't wait to get my tum-tum flat!! Ok so back to the SALT topic. All last week I cut out salt. I used other seasonings besides salt like Cheyenne pepper and Mrs. Dash seasoning, yummmm!! Oh yeah and I found my GOAL look, the look I desire to achieve and look like.

I came across a photo, and this is the overall look I want to achieve. She is a IFBB BIKINI PRO and her name is Jessica Anderson. I don't know, maybe I'm delusional or something but I feel like we have a similar type of shape. Ha ha I think I'm delusional!! But I love her look. She's feminine, sexy and strong. And she has all the right definition I want.

[Day 23]

[Day 23 and weighing in at 135 lbs]

Yay! My weigh seems to be staying steady. Today was a day filled with wife & hubby errands. We had to go to the hardware store to buy a new sink ... it broke. But honestly I'm sorta glad it did because it is an ugly yucky old sink. So this was a great opportunity for my hubby-cakes and I to pick out something new together.

My WO & MEALS were spot on today!! Husband kicked my tooshie today at the gym. I love our workout sessions together. xoxo

[Day 21] ''Tell Me Something I Don't Know''

[Day 21 and I did not have access to a scale, so no weight for today]

Ahhhh some of my friends are just simply rude to me and mean and that makes them SUCK! The word DIET ... or really anything with the word in it equals BULL$#!! to me. This is NOT a diet that I'm on. And I'm sick and tired of my "so called friends" saying "ohhh it's just a diet you can re-start tomorrow". Well I'm sorry to say it's NOT a DIET for me it's my new way of life. I just want to say ... leave me alone sometimes!! All I can do is smile and tell them that a DIET is temporary, what I'm doing is not temporary.

Here's a song that helps me keep focus on my goals and keeps all that negativity out.

''Tell Me Something I Don't Know'' Video - Selena Gomez - AOL Music: " "

I'm luv'in my workouts, it's funny because I use to be the girl who hated to workout and all I really did was count calories. And was the first one to jump on anything that was a "quick fix" I was a sucker to all the mumbo-jumbo like fad diets, diet pills, starvation and all that infomercial garbage. And you know what I've learned ... was that NONE OF THAT CRAP WORKED and it reeked havoc on my body a very bad lessons I have had to learn over the years.

I love challenging my body with "real food" and "real training". Running is such great therapy for me!! Great things are never easy, if they were everyone would be doing it. I want to say THANK YOU to my loving and supportive husband and all my new blogger friends. I appreciate you and all your words of encouragement.

[Day 19]

[Day 19 and weighing in at 136 lbs]

I was thinking last night... why am I a girl who "just goes to the gym"
I don't want to be the girl who "just goes to the gym" I want to be the girl who "HAS THE RESULTS" and shows it through each and every workout, I want to be STRONG !!
I ventured into the weight room today for the very first time. And I felt, well proud of myself. I have been eyeballing that side of the gym for two and a half weeks now. Why the hell was I so intimidated by it? I deserve to be in there just as much as all those other peeps do. They don't intimidate me anymore, they inspire me. However I can not compare myself to anyone of them. All I can compare myself to is the girl in my before picture. I want to get as far away as I can from that person in the photo. I don't care so much about what the scale says, because it's STUPID!! I just want to DROP THE BODY FAT. I'm cleaning up my diet hardcore and kicking A$$ in the gym. So everything is going as planned. As far as my WO, I had a fantastic upper body workout today. One where I was literally shaking from depletion and felt like crying in my towel. It was very therapeutic for me.

[Day 18]

[Day 18 and weighing in at 135.5 lbs]

Sunday, January 17, 2010

[Day 17]

Arhhhh!! I woke up feeling bloated and trust me it showed. I had the biggest pot belly this morning. Yuck! My stomach is my WORST part of my body, that's where I hold all my unwanted fat.

We had a very late night with our niece watching a ton of movies and vegging out on late night snacks.

As we were rushed to get out of the house to make it to church on time. I was able to grab myself ... nothing for BF. But I made sure the hubs and niece ate. I was more focused on getting rid of my puffy eyes and slathering makeup on to look a little decent. (I didn't want to scare anyone at church)

Anyways I was able to grabbed coffee at church (so no healthy BF) and after church we ate Mr. Chow's for lunch. Ohh my goodness and it's still hurting me................ ohhh the pain ohhh the horror!!

I can't believe I use to eat this garbage on a weekly basis. It was the husbands choice and I felt so bad knowing that just across the street was a Subway. I should of walked my fat ass across the street and got a mini sandwich. But Nooo. Well serves me right then!

Ohh and I forgot to mention I forgot to weigh in in the AM cause I was pressed for time so I just did it now. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (that's me crying) cause It said 140.5

DARN YOU MR. CHOW!! Weekends ruin me

Today Sucked and I cant wait for my weekdays!! :(

Saturday, January 16, 2010

[Day 16]

[Day 16 and weighing in at 137.3 lbs]

Hmmm I don't understand why my weight went up a bit from yesterday ... but I will take it.

I'm excited!! Wanna know why?? Because our niece is spending the day & night with us!! My husband and I don't have kids yet so this is our way to experience that. We LOVE being Auntie & Uncle to our 6 year old cutie-pie-cupcake. :D

Because she's coming over and we have some errands to do I didn't really plan out my meals. I however think I made some 'ok' food decisions. When it came down to lunch time I had to think ... healthy, cheap and something a 6 year old would eat. SUBWAY. She got the salomi sub, gurl can grub.

Meals:
Meal 1: 5 egg whites
Meal 2: An apple
Meal 3: Subway 6inch [Oven Roasted Chicken on wheat, all veggies except pickles and onions with light honey mustard]
Meal 4: Orange
Meal 5: Subway 6inch [Oven Roasted Chicken on wheat, all veggies except pickles and onions with light honey mustard]
Meal 6: chicken and broccoli ...

And when it came to dinner time ... I couldn't make my husband and niece eat what I was eating. My husband HATES HATES HATES broccoli and my niece likes only chicken that's breaded. So I made them a good ol'souhthern homemade meal, chicken fried steak. Not exactly healthy...

My husband eats so well every day during the week. I plan and pack all our meals now. Because of his healthy eating all week long he treats himself to 2 days
off.

I officially decided I'm not having any days off from my plan. However I will allow one, just ONE cheat meal. But it HAS to be worth it. That meal, the one I made for dinner tonight, not so much because I'm lactose intolerant so all that cream was out of the question for me. So I stuck with my trusty ol'chicken and broccoli meal [but gave myself a bigger portion]. xoxo

100% always after dinner when my niece comes over we ALWAYS BAKE CUPCAKES OR COOKIES. It is our thing ... but not tonight. We made healthy smoothies and lite popcorn while the 3 of us watched Walt Disney's Swiss Family Robinson. What a great movie!!

Workout:
Saturdays are fun because I workout with my husband and he really pushes me. We we're pressed for time because we needed to pickup our niece. So we didn't get too much time in at the gym but I bust my tooshie off and worked real hard for the minimal time we did spend in there. Here's what I was able to do in an hour: I ran 1 mile on the treadmill at 6.0 mph [6.0 use to be extremal hard] Yay, I feel like I have improved!!

I did allot of ab workouts and calf workouts as well.
